100 Word RPG Hook: Misleadingly Unremarkable
A steel door the same red as the bricks that surround it stands in the center of an otherwise unremarkable alley, in the center of an otherwise unremarkable small city, in the center of that vast territory in America fools call “flyover country.” It is alternately ignored, nervously approached, or confidently entered. There is no visible doorman, guard, or sentry.
The only clue to what lies within is a bit of faded chalk graffiti: three straight lines in an incomplete square. It is an old hobo code that means “safety”; an odd sign for an old speakeasy where assassins gather.
The Cue
The cue for this week's 100 Word RPG Hook -- we hope inspiration for the game of your choice -- was "speakeasy." Next week's cue is "cannibal." Write your own 100 words, send me the link, and I'll post your story with mine right here on the blog!
