She twisted her spine to look across her shoulder, grimacing as she looked herself over, multiple reflections echoing the sour expression back at her in the angled mirrors. “These jeans,” she hissed. “Do they…”
“They look fine,” he said, not bothering to glance up from his phone. “Better than fine. Gorgeous. You’re amazing.”
“You’re not even looking!” she whined. “Pay attention.”
He sighed, dropped the phone, and locked eyes with her through the mirror. He smiled affectionately, even lecherously.
He never gave a second thought to her five reflections. Not before it was too late.
